"THE SPEED OF DARKNESS was originally produced by The Goodman Theatre, Chicago, Illinois, on April 24, 1989. It opened on Broadway, as the premiere production of The Broadway Alliance, on February 28, 1991. It was produced by Robert Whitehead and Roger L. Stevens with Robert L. Sachter and the American National Theatre and Academy. The Associate Producers were Howard Platt / Sheila Henaghan / Michael Cullen and Constance Towers. It was directed by Robert Falls. The set was designed by Thomas Lynch, the costumes, by Merrily Murray-Walsh, lighting by Michael S. Philippi, music and sound by Rob Milburn. The casting was by Terry Fay. The production Stage Manager was William Dodds. The cast was as follows:
